Frequently asked questions
How is a weighted grade calculated?
Each score is multiplied by its weight, the results are added up and divided by the total weight. 92% worth 20 and 78% worth 25 gives (92×20 + 78×25) ÷ 45 = 84.2%.
How is the needed final score calculated?
Needed = (target − current × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight. With a current grade of 84% and a final worth 35%, getting 85% overall needs 86.9% on the final.
My weights don't add up to 100%.
That's fine for the current grade, which uses only the items entered. For the final exam calculation, your graded items plus the final should add up to 100%.
