How many words is one page?
Around 550 words single-spaced and 275 double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 pt with 1-inch margins. Arial is wider (about 470 single-spaced) and Calibri 11 narrower (about 590).
How long does it take to read or say my essay?
Reading time uses an average silent reading speed of 238 words a minute. Speaking time uses 120, 150 or 180 words a minute; most presentations are around 150.
Is the page count exact?
It's an estimate. Headings, paragraph breaks, quotes and images change the real count, so check in your word processor before submitting.
