Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and BestPDFEver (“we”, “us”) for using bestpdfever.com, its tools and the BestPDFEver API (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you use it for an organisation, you accept them on its behalf.

1. The Service

The tools are free to use without an account. We may add, change or remove features, set usage limits, or suspend the Service for maintenance. We aim for high availability but don’t guarantee it.

2. Your files

• You keep all rights to the files you process. We claim no ownership.
• For server-based tools you give us a limited permission to store and process your files only to produce the result you asked for. Files are deleted as described in our privacy policy.
• You confirm you have the right to process each file, including any password you use to unlock one.
• Keep your own copies. We don’t back up files and can’t recover them after deletion.

3. Acceptable use

You must not:

• break the law, or process content that is illegal, infringes others’ rights, or exploits children;
• remove protection from documents you aren’t authorised to unlock;
• upload malware or try to attack, overload, probe or reverse-engineer our systems;
• get around rate limits, bot protection or usage limits, or automate the website’s tools (use the API instead);
• try to access other people’s files, jobs or accounts;
• resell or repackage the free tools as your own service.

We may block requests, suspend access or close accounts that break these rules.

4. Developer API

• You need an account and an API key. Keep keys secret; you are responsible for all use of your keys. Revoke a key straight away if it leaks.
• Plans, included credits, overage prices, rate limits and file limits are listed on the pricing page. Prices exclude taxes, which are added where required.
• Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel in the billing portal. Overage is billed in arrears.
• You can cancel any time; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
• We will give at least 30 days’ notice of price increases for existing subscriptions.
• We may suspend access for non-payment, abuse, or a security risk, and will tell you when we do unless the law prevents it.

5. Advertising

The free Service shows ads. Ads are provided by third parties; we aren’t responsible for their content or the products they promote.

6. Our content

The site, its design, text, code and logos belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy them except as allowed by law. Open-source components remain under their own licences.

7. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Conversions, OCR, transcription and AI results may contain errors; check important output before you rely on it. Calculators (including health, finance and grade tools) give estimates for information only and are not medical, financial or professional advice.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

9. Indemnity

If you use the API for a business, you will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from content you process or your breach of these terms.

10. Ending the agreement

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your developer account by contacting us. Sections 2, 6, 7, 8 and 9 survive termination.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the country where we are established, and its courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring claims there.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above and, for material changes, give notice on the site or by email to developer account holders before they take effect. Questions: hello@bestpdfever.com.
